What You Get

Your set is cleaned, inspected, labelled with your name and vehicle, and stored inside at a stable temperature. When you book your changeover we pull them before you arrive, so the appointment takes as long as the work takes and no longer.

We also measure tread depth when they come off and tell you where you stand before you put them back on. That way you find out you need new winters in September rather than in the first week of November, when everyone in the city is buying them at once.

Why Not Just Keep Them in the Garage?

You can, and plenty of people do. But tires are more fragile in storage than they look, and most home storage gets at least one of these wrong.

Sunlight and heat age rubber. A set stacked by a south-facing window or in an uninsulated shed through an Edmonton summer will harden faster than a set kept in the dark at a steady temperature — and a hardened winter tire has lost the grip you paid for, whatever the tread looks like.

Ozone degrades rubber too, and the most common household source is an electric motor — a furnace, a freezer, a compressor. Tires stored next to any of those in a utility room are in a worse place than most people would guess.

And how they sit matters. Tires mounted on rims should be stacked flat or hung, never stood upright on the tread, because the weight distorts the bead over months. Unmounted tires are the opposite — those should stand upright and be rotated occasionally rather than stacked. Getting it backwards is the most common home-storage mistake.

None of that means your garage will ruin a set of tires. It means storage is a small thing that is easy to do slightly wrong, and for the price of a season it stops being your problem.

Storage works best as part of the twice-yearly rhythm rather than a separate errand. You come in for the swap, the set going off the car stays with us, and the set we have been holding goes on. One appointment, nothing to load or unload, no calendar reminder needed.
